- Manhattan is a city used in one of the scenarios from SimCity 2000. It is a city that comes with the Great Disasters expansion pack. It starts in the future where the Nuclear power plants go into a meltdown destroying half of the city with toxic waste and radiation fires. The goal is for the player to rebuild the city within a certain amount of time.
- Official description: "Manhattan - Your city is powered by a relatively cheap and abundant nuclear power. Today, however, the core melts down, spreading fires and radiation all around. Minimize the damage, clean up the mess and build up the city population to 130,000 in ten years to win."
Background
- It is based of the real-life city of the same name in New York. In real life, outside of New York City, there is an actual nuclear power plant, the Indian Point Energy Center.[1]
