ControlNet is a Service that takes the place of workers in the future, as these new technologies do not require them. It is required for OMEGA buildings to operate. The ControlNet radius can be increased by plopping a ControlNet Tower.

SimCity (2013)[]

In SimCity (2013), ControlNet is a signal in the SimCity Cities of Tomorrow expansion that radiates from the Academy. Its purpose is to control all futuristic technologies that have been researched at an Academy in the region. The amount of ControlNet produced depends on the amount of workers, with high-wealth workers producing the highest amount, medium-wealth producing a moderate amount, and low-wealth workers producing the lowest amount of ControlNet signal.

SimCity BuildIt[]

The Cities of Tomorrow Update added OMEGA buildings and related services to SimCity BuildIt on June 13, 2016. The ControlNet service keeps OMEGA homes functioning while Drones handle city crime, health, and fire emergencies. OMEGA residential buildings will produce NeoSimoleons over time, which is collected in the NeoBank and can be used in the NeoMall.

The NeoMall is unlocked at level 30 and building that unlocks the ControlNet service, allowing the building of ControlNet Towers. An OMEGA residential building is required before plopping a Small ControlNet Tower. The tower must be placed in range of the OMEGA residential building or the residents will move out.

The first Small ControlNet Tower is free. Building additional towers will increase in price, per tower type.
