Building Architect Tool, BAT for short, is a tool that allows players to customize and modify their cities, being used by many custom content creators from the series. The functions available vary per game, but it is mainly used to create building sets.
SimCity 2000[]

The Building Architect Tool first appeared in SimCity 2000 under the name SimCity 2000 Urban Renewal Kit (SCURK for short). It is a separated program that allows the player to create and modify building sets and cities.
SimCity 3000[]

Renamed as the Building Architect Tool, the tool was available as a patch that could be downloaded for free in the SimCity 3000 official site, and an improved version named Building Architect Plus was included in SimCity 3000: Unlimited alongside a Scenario Editor.
SimCity 4[]

The Building Architect Tool returned in SimCity 4. With this, the users can create models and insert them into their "Plugins" folder, where they appear in game if placed correctly.
